Kentucky coaches, players make heartfelt gesture toward child struck by car outside stadium
While Kentucky’s undefeated start has Wildcats fans excited, the team is doing something that should make everyone feel good.
According to a report from Kentucky Sports Radio, coach Mark Stoops and the rest of the Kentucky team are slated to be honorary pallbearers at the funeral of Marco Shemwell, a 4-year-old who died after being hit by a car last Saturday outside of Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Wildcats host No. 14 Mississippi State on Saturday before Shemwell’s funeral next Monday, a week after his death.
What an awesome gesture by Stoops and his players to offer some of their time to Shemwell’s grieving family.
