According to multiple reports, Kentucky junior running back Mikel Horton has decided to transfer from the program. He will finish out this semester from an academic standpoint, but will no longer be a member of the football team.

The junior out of Ohio was a former big-time recruit. He chose to sign with Kentucky over offers from Florida State, Minnesota, and Cincinnati, among others.

His playing time dwindled this year — as he accrued only three carries for 12 yards in three games this season. The presence of Boom Williams and Jojo Kemp — coupled with the emergence of freshman back Benny Snell — limited Horton’s time on the field.
