Filling the shoes of former LSU RB coach Frank Wilson won’t be an easy job, but the Tigers have hired the man they’d like to see try to do it.

The Tigers announced the hiring of Jabbar Juluke as the new LSU RB coach on Saturday, filling the void created last month by Wilson’s departure in pursuit of the head coaching job at UTSA.

Juluke was most recently at Texas Tech, but spent the three previous seasons with Louisiana Tech, where he coached record-setting RB Kenneth Dixon.

Obviously, he is walking into a situation in which he gets the opportunity to work with another star RB in LSU’s Leonard Fournette.

LSU coach Les Miles had this to say about his new RB coach in a university press release:

“Jabbar is a veteran running backs coach with strong ties to New Orleans,” Miles said. “He has a proven track record of success at both the college and high school level and he’s going to do a great job of continuing to develop our players both on and off the field.

“Jabbar is a great fit for us and we are excited to have him join our program.”

That release also revealed that Tigers WR coach Tony Ball is no longer with the program, stating that he left the staff to pursue other opportunities.
