LSU held a scrimmage Thursday before releasing its players for spring break.

Coach Les Miles canceled a scheduled press conference with the media, but NOLA.com spoke to someone late Thursday night who watched the scrimmage.

The results aren’t shocking, but portend well for the Tigers: Leonard Fournette and Jamal Adams played like superstars.

After rushing for more than 100 yards in last Saturday’s scrimmage, Fournette scored four touchdowns Thursday, including one on a swing pass from Brandon Harris, NOLA.com reported.

Teams often incorporate goal-line drills into scrimmages, and we don’t know how far out Fournette was when he scored. But numerous reports emanating from Baton Rouge, La., this spring have commented on how much more patient he is and how much better his vision is, whereas last year coach Les Miles and others were urging the media to temper outlandish expectations.

Adams, touted as perhaps one of the biggest breakout defensive stars in the nation, intercepted two passes at safety and returned both of them for touchdowns. Has LSU found its next NFL first-round defensive back?

The Tigers are off all next week for spring break before returning to practice twice, April 14 and 16, before holding a spring game two days later.
