There are few more thrilling — or terrifying — venues than LSU’s Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

As long as LSU athletics director Joe Alleva is around, it’s going to stay that way.

Last fall, LSU played its blossoming SEC rivalry game with Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night at Kyle Field. That game will be played in Tiger Stadium this fall, but Alleva wants nothing to do with the Thursday night time slot.

“As long as I’m here, we will not play in Tiger Stadium on a Thursday. I guarantee you that,” Alleva told The Advocate (Baton Rouge, La.).

Texas A&M moved the date with LSU in 2014 to Thanksgiving night, according to The Advocate, filling the slot previously occupied by the Aggies’ longtime rival Texas. Alleva has no interest in doing the same for LSU’s final regular season game this year, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28, despite requests from television networks to do so.

There is a possibility of moving the game to Friday, Nov. 27. When LSU used to meet Arkansas in the final weekend of the regular season, the game would often be played on Friday. According to The Advocate, Alleva will get a final answer on what day the Texas A&M game will be played during next week’s SEC meetings in Destin, Fla.

Alleva also added that he is focusing on having all of LSU’s home games kick off at night. In 2014, all seven of the Tigers’ home contests were nighttime kickoffs.

“I don’t care what network we’re on as long as we’re playing at night,” Alleva told The Advocate.
