Booker T. Washington (Miami, Fla.,) tight end Devonaire Clarington is one of the nation’s top tight ends. The 6-foot-5.5, 222-pound senior ranks as the No. 169 player overall and the top uncommitted tight end targeted by SEC teams.

Clarington has received offers from 11 SEC teams, including Alabama, LSU and Tennessee, who have each made his top-5 college choices. But the Miami native is also considering the Hurricanes and Texas, who is the assumed favorite after a successful official visit in November.

“Texas is and option for all of us,” Clarington told Scout following the visit. “What we are trying to do is go to one college. If one of us goes to one place, we are all trying to go to the same place. We have all sat down and talked about going to the same place. That’s what we are tying to do.”

Clarington is believed by many to follow fellow Florida prospect Cecil Cherry, who committed to Texas last week just days after decommitting from Tennessee. Cherry has reached out to Clarington since his commitment and could become a major factor in the four-star’s decision.

“This is a huge step for him (to commit to Texas),” Clarington told Horns247. “He’s always saying that I need to come play with him there.”

Miami has been the consistent favorite in the 247Sports crystal ball predictions, but Texas has earned seven predictions in recent weeks. LSU is also expected to make a late push as Clarington is scheduled to take an official visit to LSU in January.

Clarington will participate in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 3, 2015
