Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott will have a new team to play for soon after this week’s NFL Draft.

So, Mississippi State is saying goodbye.

Dan Mullen, his wife, fans and others say goodbye to one of the most storied players in program history. In the video, a boy starts and Mullen finishes, “We watched as you grew from a wide-eyed freshman still learning the game into one of the greatest quarterbacks in SEC history.”

There’s no denying what Prescott has brought to the school attention-wise, but the biggest question remains — how will Mississippi State fare without its leader in 2016?

“An encore performance for the greatest act this school has every seen,” one says in the video about Prescott upon deciding to return to MSU for his senior season.

Prescott exits Starkville owning 38 school records: 15 career records, 15 single-season records and eight single-game records. He racked up 11,897 total career yards and 114 career touchdowns, good for fourth-most in SEC history.

Count me as interested to see how Prescott fares in the NFL.
