A week off did nothing to hurt Mississippi State’s standing in the national polls, as they retained their No. 1 ranking in both the Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25.

In the AP poll, the Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0) received the same number of points, 1,480, as they did following their romp over Auburn a week ago. In the coaches poll, MSU gained 30 points, rising from 1,490 to 1,520.

Mississippi State returns to action on Saturday when they travel to meet the Kentucky Wildcats (5-2, 2-2). Kentucky is coming off a 41-3 loss at LSU.

The SEC West dominates the rankings, and here’s a look at the full top 25.
