The Mississippi State Bulldogs are ranked for the first time in 2014 following a 34-29 win over LSU Saturday night. The Bulldogs jumped all the way up to No. 14 in this week’s Associated Press Poll and No. 16 in this week’s Amway Coaches’ Poll.

This week marks the first week since the middle of 2012 that Mississippi State has been ranked in both polls. The Bulldogs became the sixth SEC West team to earn a spot in the rankings, leaving only the Arkansas Razorbacks on the outside looking in.

Mississippi State replaces defending SEC East champion Missouri as the eighth team from the conference ranked in the polls after Mizzou lost at home to Indiana Saturday afternoon.
