Two weeks after making a visit to Starkville, wide receiver Reginald Todd was ready to pull the trigger. He made his official commitment to Mississippi State on Monday evening, becoming a late addition to coach Dan Mullen’s 2016 recruiting class.

Todd, a first-team All-State contributor, does not have a rating on 247Sports but is listed as a 2-star prospect by Scout. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Mobile (AL) native caught 45 passes for 1,308 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2015.

He picked the Bulldogs over Cincinnati, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Miss — his other offers for football.

“I know Reggie can play at the SEC level,” Blount coach Lev Holly said earlier this month, per AL.com. “There is no doubt in my mind about that. Just like with any student-athlete making that transition, he just needs to get there and get acclimated to the new surroundings and that whole college mindset. But that is something he can do, and when he gets on the field he is an instant impact guy.”

A one-time New Mexico commit for basketball, Todd will likely join the team later in the summer.
