Keeping up with whether Mississippi State is ranked this season has been enough to make anyone nauseous, regardless of one’s susceptibility to motion sickness.

After falling to Alabama in Week 11, the Bulldogs slipped out of the top 25 in the major polls once again. But, after surviving a 51-50 instant classic against Arkansas, coach Dan Mullen’s team once again forged into the Associated Press Top 25, Coaches Poll and College Football Playoff poll.

The CFP committee granted the Bulldogs re-entry at No. 21 on Tuesday night. If Mississippi State can beat Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl to finish at 9-3, it would all but assure the team a spot in the final College Football Playoff rankings, which take place before the bowls.

Mississippi State has been ranked as high as No. 17 in this year’s College Football Playoff poll. This week’s poll makes the third time the Bulldogs have been ranked in four weeks of polling by the committee.
