Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen will get get to enjoy a homecoming of sorts this upcoming weekend — as his Bulldogs travel north to take on UMass.

The contest will take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Mullen grew up in New Hampshire and went to college in New York. As such, this game holds special meaning.

It’s the first time since 1986 in which a Mississippi State football team has played in the Northeast.

There are going to be nearly 100 family members and friends in attendance rooting on Mullen. His support system is even bringing him his favorite chicken fingers (with duck sauce) down from New Hampshire.

As his wife Megan told The Clarion-Ledger, “It will be more emotional and exciting for him than he thinks.”
