According to a report from The Kansas City Star, Missouri’s football program received an anonymous $1.4 million donation geared towards a new football facility.

The projected facility would be placed in the south end zone of Memorial Stadium. Initially, the plan was to add the new training facility, and renovations for the weight room, coaches’ offices, locker room, cafeteria, and a recruiting area.

There’s also a desire to soup up premium seating, as well as some of the suites within Faurot Field. In total, the projected cost would roll in at $75 million.

With this most recent donation, the fundraising efforts have accrued close to $70 million.

Making the requisite cosmetic changes is huge for any football program. The ever-evolving state of the sport is at an all-time fever-pitch. Facilities are routinely becoming more sophisticated and dynamic.

These gems are also particularly significant when it comes to recruiting.
