Missouri coach Barry Odom received some big news on Wednesday afternoon when word got out that Natereace Strong, the No. 2-ranked JUCO running back for the 2016 recruiting class, had been academically cleared to enroll at the university.

PowerMizzou.com reports that despite previous information which led us to believe Strong would not be eligible for fall enrollment, “something changed” and “specific details of the situation are unknown at this point in time.”

Strong originally committed to Missouri out of East St. Louis High School as a member of the 2015 class. However, he ended up not signing with the Tigers on National Signing Day, and elected to play for Hinds (MS) Community College as a freshman in pursuit of an associate’s degree.

He then signed with Odom’s 2016 recruiting class this past February.

During his high school recruitment, Strong was considered to be the No. 24-best running back in his class and the No. 5-ranked prospect from the state of Illinois. He had offers from Missouri, Florida State, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

According to the report, Strong is expected to have four years to play three at Mizzou.
