Bo Wallace was the face of Ole Miss football for the first three seasons of Hugh Freeze’s tenure with the Rebels.

From 2012-14, the quarterback brought a lot of joy to the Ole Miss faithful with his strong arm and penchant for big plays, as well as some frustration and pain with his knack for untimely interceptions and sometimes questionable decision-making.

Wallace went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, though he did work out for Kansas City.

Now, he’ll try to put all of that experience to use as high school football coach.

According to a report from The Tennessean’s Mike Organ, the former Tennessee prep star will return to his home state and join the coaching staff at Marshall Co. High School.

There are connections all around for Wallace as he makes the transition into coaching, as the Marshall Co. head coach that will hire the Rebels QB was formerly one of the assistants at Wallace’s Alma mater, Giles Co. High School.

“I am just thrilled, absolutely thrilled to have Bo join our staff,” said Thomas Osteen. “He was the first quarterback that I coached at Giles County. I’ve kept up with his career very closely and been to a lot of games since he’s been gone. He was a three-year starting quarterback in the SEC and there aren’t many of those guys around.”

Organ also reports that Wallace’s younger brother, Bryce, is a sophomore quarterback on the team at Marshall Co., which likely factored heavily into Wallace’s decision as well.

Wallace is expected to be hired next week.

According to the report, he spent this last football season giving private football lessons and working at a car dealership in Texas.
