Ole Miss senior linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche is questionable for Saturday’s game due to a “personal matter,” according to Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze.

Reports began circulating on Wednesday afternoon that Nkemdiche may not play.

Nkemdiche leads the Rebels with 53 tackles this season. He also has 6.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. If Nkemdiche can’t play Saturday, sophomore DeMarquis Gates would be his primary replacement at outside linebacker.

The 22nd-ranked Rebels (7-3) host No. 15 LSU (7-2) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be shown on CBS. It will be Senior Day.
