Ole Miss sideline reporter Stan Sandroni passed away late Wednesday night from a sudden heart attack. He was 64 years old.

Sandroni was an eight-time Mississippi Sportscaster of the Year honoree, as recently as 2008. He worked as the sideline reporter on Ole Miss football radio broadcasts for 26 years, including the early portion of the 2014  season, in addition to hosting the popular Locker Room show.

He co-hosted the Rebel Yell Hotline radio show for 21 years with fellow Ole Miss media member Chuck Rounsaville.

Sandroni also served as the voice of Delta State sports — a Division II school in Cleveland, Mississippi — during his career.

Ole Miss play-by-play announcer David Kelleum shared his thoughts on Sandroni’s passing with Rebels fans via Twitter Thursday morning, including a photo Sandroni on the sidelines for what was his final Ole Miss football game last week against Vanderbilt.

Sandroni’s passing comes less than a week removed from the death of fellow Magnolia State legend and longtime Mississippi State broadcaster Jack Cristil, who passed away last Sunday at the age of 88.
