The Ole Miss Rebels were joined on the sidelines by a couple of racing’s biggest stars Thursday night in Atlanta.

Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were already in town for this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the happy couple (yes, they’re dating) chose to visit the Georgia Dome to take in Ole Miss’ 2014 season opener against Boise State.

Stenhouse is a Mississippi native and an Ole Miss fan, and he and Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze played a round of golf in the same group at a charity event this past June.

“Ricky is an Ole Miss guy,” Freeze told the Oxford Citizen after the golf event. “We’re going to transform Danica into being an Ole Miss fan as well.”

Sideline passes to a game certainly won’t hurt Freeze’s chances of wooing Patrick to become a member of the Hotty Toddy fan base. The two drivers were able to witness a 35-13 Ole Miss victory, and Freeze shared his appreciation for his guests with the Twitter world after the game.

We’ll see if either Stenhouse or Patrick return the favor and let Freeze ride shotgun for a race sometime next spring.
