The hallmark of junior college transfers in the SEC remains 2010 Heisman Trophy winner Cameron Newton, who joined the Auburn Tigers after spending a year at Blinn College in Texas.

And while no junior college transfers in the SEC have made as big an impact as Newton did in 2010, more JUCO players are coming into the conference and performing at a high level.

Here are five junior college transfers that made waves in 2015.

1. Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss: The nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly didn’t turn out to be the missing link between the Rebels and a spot in the College Football Playoffs. But he led Ole Miss to a win in Tuscaloosa and back to a New Year’s Day six bowl where the Rebels will take on Mississippi State. Kelly threw for 3,740 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior and made second-team All-SEC in the coaches and AP lists.

2. Sebastian Tretola, OL, Arkansas: Tretola joined the Razorbacks from Iowa Western College in the Class of 2014 and became arguably the best offensive lineman in the SEC in 2015. Tretola was named a co-recipient of the Jacobs Trophy and took home first-team All-America and All-SEC honors for his efforts.

3. Dominick Jackson, OL, Alabama: It took the 6-foot-7 Jackson a little while to get going with the Crimson Tide, but once he did, the Class of 2014 junior college transfer from College of San Mateo in California proved his value and was a second-team All-SEC selection.

4. Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee: Kamara, once a top recruit for Alabama, made his return to the SEC count with the Volunteers. Kamara was second on the team with 645 yards rushing and six touchdown while added 31 receptions and 272 yards.

5. Jovon Robinson, RB, Auburn: Robinson was hampered with an ankle injury for the first half of the season but he finished with 513 yards and two touchdowns with his biggest game coming against Texas A&M (27 carries, 159 yards, TD). Robinson and Peyton Barber should be a dangerous combo out of the backfield in 2016.
