With Week 13 officially in the books, let’s take a look at the best performances of the weekend in this week’s All-SEC Team.

OFFENSE

QB Hutson Mason: The Georgia signal caller completed 10 of 12 passes and threw for three touchdowns without an interception in the Bulldogs 55-9 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday. Mason only threw for 187 yards but he was as efficient and effective as any quarterback in the SEC in Week 13, leading the UGA offense to the SEC’s highest point total of the week.

RB Nick Chubb: Georgia’s freshman tailback only played the first half of the win over CSU, but he still amassed 113 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries, including an 83-yard touchdown scamper less than five minutes into the game. The Buccaneers never slowed Chubb while he was on the field, and he reminded Dawgs fans their offense still has a playmaker even with Todd Gurley lost for the year.

RB Derrick Henry: Like Chubb, Henry also saw limited action in Alabama’s 48-14 win over Western Carolina on Saturday, but that didn’t stop him from running for 92 yards and two touchdowns at better than 7.7 yards per carry. Henry hadn’t rushed for more than 78 yards in a game since mid-September, but he exploded for a huge day against the Catamounts in Week 13.

WR Demarcus Robinson: See below.

WR Quinton Dunbar: Robinson and Dunbar each had huge days on Saturday to lead a Florida passing game that has lacked explosiveness for much of the season. The two wideouts may have combined to catch just seven balls, but they amassed 244 yards and four touchdowns on those seven catches (two touchdowns apiece) to make the most of their opportunities. Each player had a touchdown of 50 yards or longer, and the tandem out-gained the entire Eastern Kentucky offense by more than 100 yards on the day. Florida is normally a run-first offense, but the way Robinson and Dunbar played on Saturday made it tough not to air the ball out every now and again.

O-line Alabama: The Tide’s offensive line cleared the way for the ground game to post 275 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Western Carolina. It also kept quarterbacks Blake Sims and Jacob Coker upright the entire game, never allowing a sack to the Catamounts. Alabama controlled the trenches the way it used to during its title runs in recent years, which has to be a good sign for Tide fans heading into the last week of the regular season.

DEFENSE

DL Trey Flowers: The entire Arkansas defense could earn a spot on this week’s team, but Flowers shined brighter than the rest from his defensive end position. He did a little bit of everything in the Hogs’ shutout win over Ole Miss — recording a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He wreaked havoc in the Ole Miss backfield and helped limit the Rebels to just 63 yards rushing at fewer than two yards per carry, justifying his invitation to the Senior Bowl in January.

DL Markus Golden: Golden has been overshadowed by Shane Ray to some extent this season, but he had his second straight monstrous performance in Saturday’s road win over Tennessee. The senior finished second on the team with six tackles and added 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery in the win. He now ranks in the top 5 in the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss, and he helped the Mizzou defense stymy a red-hot Tennessee offense in a huge performance on Saturday.

LB Martrell Spaight: The Razorbacks’ senior linebacker is another Hogs defender worth recognizing following Saturday’s 30-0 win over Ole Miss. Spaight made plays all over the field, leading the team with 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry in the win, and he served as an emotional leader on the field for a defense that played inspired football on its Senior Day. The Razorbacks are now one of the hottest teams in the SEC, and the play of Spaight and the defense is a big reason why.

LB Kris Frost: Frost and the Auburn defense kept the Tigers afloat during their slow start offensively in Saturday’s win over Samford, holding the Bulldogs to just seven points by game’s end. The junior linebacker registered a team-high 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries and an interception of quarterback Michael Eubank, and the Tigers got back on track with a much-needed win following two straight losses in SEC play.

DB Brison Williams: South Carolina’s defense has not had much to be proud of this year, but it can be proud of the way it played against South Alabama on Saturday. The Gamecocks didn’t allow a touchdown on the day and forced three USA turnovers in the win, including a pair of interceptions by Williams, who helped limit the Jaguars to just 170 yards through the air. Williams recorded the first two-interception game of his career against the Jags, leading a young secondary in its best showing of the year.

DB Rohan Gaines/Jared Collins: These are the final two Razorback defenders on this week’s All-SEC team, and they share the spot for both making huge contributions to a feisty Arkansas secondary on Saturday. Collins recorded three pass breakups to lead all SEC defenders in Week 13, and Gaines intercepted Bo Wallace in the end zone and returned it 100 yards for a Razorbacks touchdown to extend the Hogs lead to 27 points in the third quarter. Collins’ consistency kept the Ole Miss air attack out of sync all night, while Gaines big play put the game out of reach once and for all. As a result, both deserve a mention on this week’s team.
