One of the hottest “free-agent” college football players on the market hasn’t even played a down yet at the next level.

Four-star running back and Dallas, Texas, native Jordan Stevenson, who signed with Wisconsin this past National Signing Day, was denied admission into the university Thursday. Stevenson is expected to receive his release from the Badgers this afternoon, allowing schools to contact him.

According to 247Sports, citing sources, his interest is soaring, and four SEC schools — Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida — are planning to contact him once he has his release. Miami, Nebraska, Maryland, Louisville, West Virginia, SMU, Oregon State, Pitt and Oklahoma State are all planning to contact Stevenson, too, and he hopes to talk to all of the interested schools in the next 24 hours.

The 5-8, 210-pound running back rushed for 4,550 yards and 45 touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons.

Stevenson was rated as the country’s No. 17 overall running back and the state of Texas’ No. 30 overall prospect in the 2015 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
