Four-star linebacker Nate McBride will miss his junior season of high school.

McBride told the AJC that he broke his wrist following an auto accident. He explained that he was tired from practice, fell asleep at the wheel and hit a tree.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect is one of the most coveted players in the 2017 recruiting class, and he said Alabama and Georgia are co-leaders at this point in the process.

“They are the same in my book,” McBride told the AJC. “Both have stuck out the most to me because of the way they recruit me and the coaches and players are similar to me.”

McBride is ranked as the country’s No. 3 outside linebacker and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Georgia for 2017, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
