The SEC is known for producing some of the biggest and baddest offensive linemen.

The 2016 recruiting class will help continue that trend as the conference’s premier teams are poised to add some beast blockers.

The tackles usually get most of the credit but the guys on the interior do the dirty work too. Guards and centers can be the difference between the quarterback sitting in the pocket and the pocket sitting on the quarterback.

Here are the best five currently on board in the opinion of Saturday Down South:

1. Ben Cleveland (Tuccoa, Georgia) – Georgia commit

  • The skinny: Cleveland is a high four-star recruit who has been committed to the Bulldogs since last summer and is a literally a huge addition. At 6-foot-6, 327-pounds, Cleveland will one day be a load on the interior of Georgia’s offensive line with the duty of protecting five-star 2016 quarterback commit Jacob Eason. Although he primarily played guard in high school, Cleveland’s size might eventually make him a better fit at tackle.

2. Drake Jackson (Versailles, Ky.) — Kentucky commit

  • The skinny: Jackson is one of the best centers to come through the prep ranks in quite some time. He’ll join fellow four-star recruit and offensive tackle Landon Young as the prize possessions of the Wildcats 2016 recruiting class and together they will look to help build a winner in Lexington.

3. Donavaughn Campbell (Ponchatoula, La.) — LSU commit

  • The skinny: The Tigers kept a big fish in-state by landing the 6-foot-5, 340-pound Campbell. The four-star prospect is rated as the No. 12 player in the state of Louisiana by Rivals and is currently the only interior offensive lineman in LSU’s 2016 class. A move to tackle could be in Campbell’s future, as well.

4. Deonte Brown (Decatur, Ala.) — Alabama commit

  • The skinny: The Crimson Tide have a knack for finding big, physical guards and didn’t have to go far to find Brown. A four-star prospect, Brown will be joined in Alabama’s 2016 class by four-star offensive tackle Jonah Williams. Together, they will try to prevent defenders from even breathing on Alabama’s prized 2015 five-star quarterback commit Blake Barnett.

5.  Aaron Dowdell (Atlanta, Ga.) — Georgia commit

  • The skinny: Along with Cleveland, Dowdell is another Georgia blocker that will be faced with the task of protecting Eason once they arrive in Athens in 2016. If Cleveland ultimately ends up at tackle, Dowdell’s presence on the Bulldogs offensive line will be that much more valuable.
