South Carolina’s a touchdown favorite against Tennessee on Saturday. Here’s a look inside some of the numbers:

THE GOOD

2,241: Total passing yards from Dylan Thompson who is coming off a career-best 402-yard outing at Auburn. Thompson’s on pace to set single-season yardage and touchdown records for a South Carolina quarterback.

40: Catches by Pharoh Cooper, South Carolina’s leading receiver and second-most targeted wideout in the conference. The sophomore leads the Gamecocks with six touchdown receptions and 553 yards receiving this season. The former prep quarterback’s even blossomed into a passing option out of the Wildcat formation, another wrinkle to use for the SEC East’s top offense.

599: Total offensive snaps, second only to Texas A&M’s 608 in the SEC. Steve Spurrier said before the season that his team would try and speed up the pace a bit and the Gamecocks have done just that.

THE BAD

208.4: Yards per game the Gamecocks are giving up on the ground, worst in the SEC. Auburn averaged nearly 9 yards per carry during last week’s loss on the Plains and rushed for a season-best 395 yards. Cameron Artis-Payne led the way with 167 yards on the ground.

3: Number of empty red zone trips at Auburn after South Carolina came into the game at an SEC-best conversion rate.
