Maurice Clarett was at the top of the college football world as a freshman in 2002, leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to the BCS National Championship with a win over longtime No. 1 Miami, snapping the Hurricanes’ incredible 34-game winning streak.

Multiple run-ins with the law and eventual imprisonment derailed what was a promising career soon thereafter.

Now a motivational speaker who teaches young athletes the dangers of success and who to avoid along the way, Clarett stopped at Texas A&M on his summer tour earlier this week to meet coach Kevin Sumlin and director of player development Mikado Hinson.

Clarett raved about Sumlin and the Aggies’ first-class facilities on Instagram, saying: “I would be lying if I told everyone that I’ve visited a better place than this. First class people and first class facilities. Coach Sumlin is the real deal. No doubt about that. I’ve been enough places to know who’s real and who’s not.”
