Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason won Monday’s session of SEC Media Days and then proceeded to cap off the night with a confirmed late addition to the 2016 recruiting class in fullback Bailey McElwain, according to AL.com.

McElwain (6-foot, 230 pounds), who plays both fullback and linebacker for Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, had previously been committed to play for Stanford but opted against signing his Letter of Intent on National Signing Day in February.

Considered the No. 3 fullback in his class, McElwain is listed as a 3-star recruit and the No. 42-ranked prospect from his state. His only other offer outside Vanderbilt was Stanford, though he elected to play for coach Mason and the ‘Dores come this fall rather than enrolling at Lake Forest Prep Academy near Chicago.

McElwain will be the 21st addition to Mason’s 2016 class, which ranks No. 53 nationally but last in the SEC.
