Ed Marynowitz is coming back to Alabama in the role of Associate Athletics Director for Football, the school announced Wednesday.

Marynowitz was Alabama’s director of player personnel from 2008-11 and played a key role in hauling in three consecutive No. 1 rated recruiting classes to Tuscaloosa – and that was before the Crimson Tide were the recruiting machine they now are under Saban’s staff.

Marynowitz left Alabama to become a scout for the Philadelphia Eagles and was elevated to the role of Vice President of Player Personnel during this time in Philly. While working for the Eagles, Marynowitz was able to work under Chip Kelly, who was obviously one of the most successful college coaches in recent history at Oregon.

It could be interesting to see what knowledge Marnowitz will have to share with Saban and his offensive staff after working with Kelly the past couple of seasons.
