The shuffling continues on Alabama’s coaching staff.

Tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Bobby Williams is being moved to an off-field position, according to Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News, who’s reporting his title will be “special assistant” to Nick Saban.

Williams is a long-time Saban assistant, having worked with him in some capacity at three other stops, including Michigan State, LSU and the Miami Dolphins. He’s been with Saban during his entire tenure in Tuscaloosa dating back to 2007.

The Crimson Tide made it official less than a week ago that it had hired Kentucky’s Derrick Ansley to be the program’s next defensive backs coach. Then, Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans reported that Alabama pegged its next offensive line coach in former Central Florida offensive coordinator/running backs coach Brent Key.

Mario Cristobal was re-assigned to offensive tackles and tight ends as a result.
