Alabama coach Nick Saban is 16-0 against his former assistants — a group that includes Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher, Tennessee’s Jeremy Pruitt and others.

On Tuesday at SEC Media Days, Smart was reminded of Saban’s record against his ex-assistants by Bob Holt of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

Smart smiled and delivered the quote of the day so far:

Holt then asked Smart if he thinks that will change at some point. Smart responded by saying it depends on how long Saban coaches, but does think that, eventually, Saban will finally lose to a former assistant:

Obviously, Smart hopes that former Saban assistant is him, but he didn’t actually say that on Tuesday. Still, with the program he’s built at Georgia, he is likely considered the favorite to finally hand Saban his first loss against one of his former assistants.
