The Razorbacks strong tradition of running backs looks to continue well into the future with Sunday’s commitment from 2017 four-star Tennessee running back Chase Hayden. Rated as one of the elite athletes in the nation, Hayden should provide Arkansas an elite playmaker to its backfield.

The 5-foot-10, 189-pound Hayden is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 4 all-purpose back in the nation and Tennessee’s No. 10 overall recruit, according to 247Sports. Hayden committed to Arkansas over finalists Missouri and Oklahoma State. Hayden also held offers from Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Michigan, among others.

Hayden’s father Aaron Hayden starred at running back for Tennessee from 1991-1994, rushing for over 2,000 yards for the Vols during his playing career in Knoxville.

Hayden participated against the nation’s elite prospects from all around the country in Nike’s recent The Opening camp and came away with First-Team Running Back honors following the conclusion of the camp:

Last season Hayden dominated his Tennessee high school competition, rushing for 2,625 yards, 37 total touchdowns and added 19 receptions for 249 yards. Check out his junior highlight film to get an idea of the players Hayden could become at the next level for Arkansas:

With Hayden’s addition, the Razorbacks are now up to 17 total commitments for the 2017 recruiting cycle.
