Boom! Auburn intends to keep its kicking duties in the family for the foreseeable future, as 2017 prospect Anders Carlson of Pike National Forest, Colo., has committed to the Tigers.

Head coach Gus Malzahn took to Twitter to confirm the news with his standard “Boom!” message Saturday night:

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Carlson committed to Auburn over Oklahoma State and was also receiving attention from Ohio State and Vanderbilt. According to Kohl’s Professional Camps, a website dedicated to prep kicking, punting and snapping, Carlson is the nation’s No. 2 kicker prospect for 2017.

“It is special to go to the same college team as your brother,” Carlson said according to Jason Caldwell of Scout.

“I think it will be cool for my brother to mentor me on and off the field,” Carlson continued. “Even if my brother wasn’t there, I feel like Auburn is the best fit. On the football side of it, I get to play SEC football on a really, really good team that gets to go to big bowl games and has a chance to play for titles. Academically, there is a lot I like about Auburn. For me it is the perfect fit.”

Following the news, his older brother chimed in with a congratulatory tweet:
