Woody Barrett appears to be headed for Auburn.

The skilled dual-threat quarterback, labeled a four-star talent by 247Sports‘ composite rankings, tweeted Friday his intention to join the Tigers soon. Barrett needed to meet SAT requirements before enrolling in the university, according to the Orlando Sentinel. As reported by AL.com, Bob Head, Barrett’s coach at West Orange High School in Orlando, said the young player will begin classes at Auburn next week.

“He’s all fired up,” Head told AL.com. “We’re all excited. He’s been working hard and doing everything he had to do this summer to get qualified. He’s growing up.”

It’s a good sign for Auburn that everything appears to be working out for Barrett. He’s expected to compete for the starting job against John Franklin III, Jeremy Johnson and Sean White. It will be fun to watch his progression.

Soon, we’ll all learn what Barrett can offer on the Plains.
