The Auburn Tigers were affected by the fact that star RB Kerryon Johnson wasn’t at full strength for the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

Also missing from the Auburn backfield was Kamryn Pettway, who has battled several injuries already this year. The latest one, a shoulder injury against Arkansas, kept him out for the last part of the season.

On Wednesday, coach Gus Malzahn confirmed that Pettway would not be able to play in the Peach Bowl against UCF as he continues to recover from the injury:

Pettway only received 76 carries this year in his limited availability, running for 305 yards and six touchdowns.

Pettway is eligible to declare for the NFL Draft after this season, but whether or not he goes remains to be seen. Malzahn said he hasn’t discussed future plans with Pettway yet, but will do so when the time is right.
