It may have taken a little longer than expected but Jesiah Pierre is officially committed to Dan Mullen’s Florida program.

The Mount Dora, Fla., native publicly announced his commitment to the Gators Sunday evening but no one from Gainesville acknowledged the commitment until Monday morning. Whatever the issue, Mullen retweeted news of Pierre’s commitment on Monday giving the Gators pledge No. 11 for the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Pierre is rated as a three-star linebacker, the No. 42 outside linebacker in the nation and the No. 89 overall prospect from the Sunshine State according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Pierre was formerly committed to Miami but backed off that pledge in May. He’s racked up 131 tackles, 4.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in the previous two seasons of his high school career.
