WATCH: Referees decide not to call foul as Florida runs out of time vs. Auburn
The Auburn Tigers advanced to the SEC title game on Saturday with a 65-62 win over the Florida Gators in Nashville.
Yes, the Tigers outplayed the Gators late, but the game didn’t end without some controversy, thanks to a questionable refereeing decision.
As you can see below, the Tigers were up three when Jared Harper missed a free throw. The Tigers tried to foul Andrew Nembhard so he’d shoot two free throws instead of getting a chance to make a game-tying three. However, the refs decided that all of this contact below didn’t warrant a foul:
Final shot of the game. Refs miss an OBVIOUS foul call. #Gators should’ve had three FTs to tie the game and force OT. Florida got hosed. pic.twitter.com/wQWYRK8EWS

Florida fans were understandably upset with the call, as it cost them a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Yes, it would have been difficult, but the refs bizarrely missed what seemed like an easy foul call — one that Auburn was attempting to have called.
