Georgia OL Jake Edwards has decided to transfer, according to a report by Seth Emerson of DawgNation.com.

“I just wanted to look to get more playing time,” Edwards told Emerson. “So I decided to transfer.”

Edwards was originally a three-star recruit who signed with the Bulldogs in 2014. He redshirted that fall after tearing his ACL in summer workouts. In 2015, Edwards was a member of the scout team.

Edwards was reportedly working with the third-string offensive linemen this spring, according to media reports from open period viewings.

According to Emerson, Edwards is looking at Georgia Southern and Chattanooga.

“I told them the schools I was looking at, and they said there shouldn’t be any problem, and that I was fine to go,” Edwards said.

The Franklin, Ga. product is expected to decide on one of the two schools soon.
