The LSU Tigers will head to Oxford this weekend to take on the Ole Miss Rebels.

For coach Ed Orgeron, it will be a homecoming of sorts, as he led the Rebels from 2005 to 2007, going a disappointing 10-25 in his three years at the helm of the program.

Therefore, Ole Miss fans won’t exactly be cheering their former coach, but Coach O doesn’t mind. In fact, he said on Monday that he is where he wants to be now, taking a subtle jab at Ole Miss in the process:

Considering LSU was on a run of dominance from 2005 to 2007, it’s easy to see why Coach O was envious of his neighbors to the west.

Now that he’s in Baton Rouge as the Tigers’ coach, he has a big job ahead of him if he wants to get the program back to those championship levels.

However, coming off a big win over No. 10 Auburn last weekend, Orgeron has the Tigers heading in the right direction. If he can avoid a letdown against his former team, the Tigers should end up with a decent season.
