Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers are talk of college football right now.

After LSU’s 42-28 win over Florida, in which Burrow and the LSU offense were virtually flawless, the Tigers are being talked about as national championship contenders while there is new buzz surrounding the quarterback’s Heisman Trophy candidacy and NFL Draft stock.

Surprise, surprise – Burrow isn’t getting caught up in all the hype.

“Not too much,” Burrow told LSU media members when asked if he pays attention to the national media. He continued, “No, you know I’m focused about getting better every day in here, what we feel we can get better at inside our building.”

On the subject of dealing with success, Burrow gave a coach-like answer.

“We’re just gonna keep practicing the way we’ve been practicing,” Burrow said in his Monday media availability. “You know, we’ve got to have a great practice tomorrow (Tuesday). Today (Monday) was okay. Energy wasn’t great. Coach O felt it, I felt it. We’re just gonna have to keep doing our routines, don’t let off the gas. I’m going to be in here just like I am every week because that’s what’s gotten us to this point so far, and that’s why we’ve been so successful.”

The message is consistent with what Burrow told his teammates in the locker room ater the Florida game.

“It was a big win, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew that you know our goals are still in front of us and we still have a long way to go to get to where we want to get to,” Burrow said. “We enjoyed the win, 24-hour rule, celebrated, had a great time, but you know it’s time to get back going.”

The Tigers get back going again on Saturday against Mississippi State. The game will air on CBS in the 3:30 p.m. ET slot, 2:30 local kickoff in Starkville, Mississippi.
