This time last year, many pegged LSU for a down season and questioned the future of Ed Orgeron in Baton Rouge. Following an overachieving 10-3 season which featured a Fiesta Bowl win, those concerns have been squashed by the Tigers.

Orgeron certainly deserves praise for leading his program to double-digit wins but the LSU coach also is very aware how big of a factor his support staff played in the team’s success in 2018. Several times last season, Orgeron praised LSU for making a commitment to growing the program’s support staff, which he believed made a big difference from the previous season, particularly when it comes to game planning week in and week out in the SEC.

Well, LSU received that message loud and clear as the team continues to surround Orgeron with analysts with the newest one coming from the former Cleveland Browns staff. According to Football Scoop, former Browns offensive line assistant coach Mark Hutson has landed an analyst role in Baton Rouge. This comes after Tigers’ analyst Brad Kragthorpe left for a role on the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff.

Hutson has a lengthy coaching career that does include some SEC experience. During the 1998 and 1999 seasons, Hutson served as tight ends and special teams coach for Arkansas. He’s served multiple roles in the NFL as well as a few stints at Eastern Illinois and Tulsa.
