Since landing a big NFL contract, former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu has not been shy about giving back to those less fortunate than him.

Around Thanksgiving, the Arizona Cardinals defender gave turkey dinners to families in the Phoenix area and now, with Christmas coming up, he’s at it again.

According to ESPN.com, Mathieu went around the Phoenix area again on Monday night, delivering presents and toys to children in nine different families, spending $10,000 of his own money to do it:

“I like seeing people happy, I like seeing people smile and I like families together, enjoying each other,” Mathieu said. “So that’s the ultimate reason why I do it.

“Anytime you see parents break down or parents cry, it’s always for genuine reasons. Those moments would probably be the moments that stick with me the most, are the moments that I find myself thinking about all the time.”

The Honey Badger said he knows he’s fortunate to be where he is in life and wants to make sure others feel special during the holiday season, too:

“I’m just really blessed to be in the position I’m in,” Mathieu said. “I’ve always wanted to see other people smile, so this is something that I like to do.”

It’s always great to see athletes giving back to their communities, and Mathieu has shown time and time again that he’s an incredible role model for everyone in the Phoenix area.
