LSU backup quarterback Danny Etling reportedly suffered a lower back injury, but the senior may be trying to disprove that notion.

Etling can be seen throwing the ball more than 50 yards in the air in this video posted on Twitter by The Advocate’s Ross Dellinger.

If starting quarterback Brandon Harris is forced to miss any time in the Tigers’ opener against Wisconsin, Etling could prove extremely valuable. Etling transferred to LSU last season after spending time at Purdue, a member of the Big Ten.

Although Etling never played against the Badgers, he certainly wouldn’t be intimidated to enter the game against his former division foe.

LSU coach Les Miles downplayed any notion that Etling will miss time barring a setback and said he’s in a good position to play.

“(He’s) going to be fine,” Miles said Monday, according to nola.com. “He’s going to practice today. There’s a little catch in his get along. Danny is in position to play and play right away.”

If Dellinger’s video is to be believed, Etling looks ready to drop dimes on the Badgers this weekend.
