Mizzou experiences worst drop in home attendance in school history
After a 5-7 season in 2015, many Mizzou fans stayed away from Faurot Field this fall. In fact, it was the worst drop in attendance in school history.
Missouri's avg.home football attendance this season 52,000–down from 65,000 in 2015, biggest drop from one season to next in school history

Apparently fans weren’t excited by the hire of Barry Odom to replace former coach Gary Pinkel. It also did not help that after a 2-2 start, the Tigers went on a six-game losing skid. Game No. 5 of that skid had particularly poor attendance, as multiple reporters tweeted crowd shots prior to kickoff:

The Tigers finished 4-8 in 2016, with all four wins coming at home (Eastern Michigan, Delaware State, Vanderbilt and Arkansas).
