Chad Kelly is being given another shot to prove himself in the NFL.

Following a tryout with the Colts, Indianapolis must have been impressed with the former standout Ole Miss signal caller as the team announced it has signed Kelly Monday morning. Kelly was previously on the Denver Broncos but the team released him following his arrest for trespassing. While that offense may not seem like much, it was the latest in a string of bad decisions made by Kelly during his playing career.

Kelly missed his rookie season after being a seventh-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. During the 2018 preseason, Kelly completed 40 of his 60 passes for 466 yards with three touchdowns for the Broncos, which helped him make the team’s final roster heading into the season.

While Chad Kelly may not be happy about his path to Indy, considering Andrew Luck’s injury history, if the former Ole Miss signal caller can make the team’s final roster, there’s a chance he could see the field next season in a regular season game.

During his two seasons in Oxford, Kelly threw for 6,800 yards and 50 touchdowns with 21 interceptions. He also added another 841 yards on the ground and 15 scores and led Ole Miss to a win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
