To make room for injury replacements on the 53-man roster, the Carolina Panthers cut former South Carolina WR Damiere Byrd on Thursday, according to The State.

Byrd, who made the team out of training camp, was inactive for the first five games of the season.

Byrd had 68 catches and 10 touchdowns in his South Carolina career.

He was an undrafted free agent and was signed by the Panthers following the 2015 NFL Draft.
