South Carolina DB Javon Charleston appears to be considering a transfer. Multiple reports says Charleston is now listed in the NCAA transfer portal. It is not guaranteed that Charleston is leaving, but being in the portal allows him to be recruited by other schools.

A reserve defensive back this past season, Charleston was expected to be in line for a bigger role in 2019. In his four years at South Carolina, Charleston has completed his redshirt junior season. He joined the program in 2015 and then earned a scholarship prior to 2017, a season he stood out on special teams.

In 2018, Charleston was arrested for assault, battery and first-degree burglary in June (part of an alleged domestic dispute). He was reinstated to the team in September after agreeing to a pre-trail intervention program. A foot injury sidelined him for the final six games of the 2018 season.
