So far it appears Texas A&M has hit the jackpot in landing former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight via graduate transfer this offseason. Obviously the Aggies were setback following the transfers of both sophomore Kyle Allen and freshman Kyler Murray but may have landed the best lifeline in the nation from the former Sooner.

During his time at Oklahoma, Knight is most known for his incredible performance against Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl. The Sooners won the game thanks in large part to Knight’s 348 passing yards and four touchdown game and would lead to the Oklahoma quarterback to garner offseason Heisman hype. Of course Knight struggled mightily as Oklahoma’s full time starter in 2014 and was replaced by Baker Mayfield in 2015 – which led to his transfer to College Station.

In an odd link to the former glory days of A&M, before Knight ever became a household name — and became the crush of one Katy Perry, he served in the Johnny Manziel role as the Sooners scout team quarterback in anticipation for the 2013 Cotton Bowl.

That obviously didn’t work out too well for Oklahoma though, as Manziel racked up 516 total yards of offense and four touchdowns in a 41-13 Texas A&M victory.
