Derrick Walker has made his final decision, he’s now a Cornhusker.

After playing two seasons in Knoxville for Rick Barnes, Walker decided to leave Rocky Top following Tennessee’s latest basketball season. Walker appeared in 64 games in two seasons for the Vols with an average of just over seven minutes on the court. He averaged just over one point and one rebound during that span.

Following what appeared to be a promising freshman debut, Walker never seemed to take his game to the next level and often wasn’t asked to take the court for Tennessee this season. Following the season, Walker entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal and now we know he officially won’t be returning for the Vols.

Walker tweeted out the following message on Twitter announcing his decision to leave for Nebraska.

“Excited to announce that I will be continuing my journey at the University of Nebraska to play for Coach Hoiberg. Couldn’t be more excited to be a Husker!”
