The Tennessee Volunteers started spring practices on Tuesday, and already they’re down a player.

When new coach Jeremy Pruitt took the podium for his first presser of the spring, he announced that senior DL Quay Picou was no longer with the team.

Picou had appeared in six games for the Vols over the past two seasons, recording 11 tackles and one fumble recovery:

While this isn’t a huge loss for Tennessee, it does hurt their depth at an important position, so Pruitt will have to find a way to replace him along the defensive line.

There’s still plenty of time, though, as the spring practice session just got underway.
