It was recently reported that the family of former Auburn RB Tre Mason was concerned about his mental health, and a new report by TMZ Sports gives us a glimpse as to why.

The website obtained the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (Fla.) report from a July 23 incident in which police were called to the family home by Mason’s mother. The officers noted bizarre behavior, in which Mason made statements about Al Qaeda and threatened to call the White House to have the officers fired.

Here are some of details of the report, as reported by TMZ Sports:

According to the report, filed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office … cops say Tre’s mother had called because her son was “acting unusual and making irrational statements.”
When Tre saw the cops, he threatened to call the White House and have them all fired — and made bizarre statements about Al Qaeda … so says the report.
Upon inspection, cops noticed a hole that had been punched in the wall of Tre’s bedroom and a broken vase and lamp. Tre also had a cut on his hand, but was refusing medical attention.

It’s been a particularly rough offseason for the Los Angeles Rams running back. He was arrested in Florida in March for reckless driving and possession of marijuana in an incident that led to him being tased. He did not report to Rams training camp, and has been put on the “reserve/did not report” list, meaning he does not have a spot on the team’s current active roster. Rams coach Jeff Fisher recently said that Mason has cut off all communication with the team.
