Dan Mullen has been mentioned as a possible NFL coaching candidate before, and it appears the eight-year Bulldogs coach is open to the idea at some point in his coaching career.

“I think I would. I don’t know when a time would be,” Mullen told “The Midday 180” host Paul Kuharsky at the coaches convention in Nashville. Mullen said he hasn’t spoken to anyone in the NFL this year.

Kuharsky, who writes for ESPN.com, recapped the conversation with Mullen about the NFL:

Said like players, he thinks every coach is curious if he can do it at the highest level at some point. “I have not spoken to anybody in the NFL this year.” Said it seems to come up because of QB development, so he hopes it keeps coming up since he has one to develop.

Last month, Monday Morning Quarterback’s Peter King included Mullen as a possible candidate for the Los Angeles Rams vacancy. Mullen shot down the rumors, but expressed in one day going to the NFL.
